Fishing Rules

The welfare of our carp comes first – all fish must be handled with care and respect.

  • Maximum of three fishing rods per angler 
  • No rods to be left unattended Maximum one hook per rig. 
  • All hooks must be barbless or micro barb
  • Minimum line strength 12lbs
  • Fresh/ Freezer boilies only.  Particle can be used only if purchased from Oaktree Lakes
  • Carp care kit must be used and hook holds or any wounds to fish treated
  • Do not sack the fish or leave overnight. 
  • Fish can be placed in a retainer for a maximum of 15 minutes whilst preparing to weigh the fish and take photographs
  • Keep the fish wet at all times and have a bucket of lake water ready before you take the fish onto the mats
  • Landing nets, cradles and weigh slings will be provided – please use these and not your own and never leave a fish unattended
  • All fish must be released and returned to the water as quickly as possible with the utmost care
  • Please report any damaged fish before putting back in the lake
  • No standing with fish out of the water for photos.
  • Dispose of all litter including fishing line, cigarette ends etc – do not leave rubbish in your swim.
  • Please report any breakages so that we can sort them as soon as possible
  • We will not tolerate any intoxicated, aggressive, excessively loud or unsafe behaviour will be asked to leave immediately without a refund.

General Rules

Please treat the lake, the grounds with respect at all times

  • If using the boat a life jacket is to be worn at all times
  • Use the toilet provided which is a dry toilet
  • Please use the shower gel provided as only bio can be used.
  • No excess noise
  • Bait boats permitted
  • Do not chop down bankside vegetation
